At our company, you won′t find any long lists of more or less committed distributors.
Our distribution strategy is based on a direct relationship with our customers.
This proximity ensures that our customers′ development engineers from the rail-vehicle industry receive fast and competent support from the very start. GERSYS products are just too complex for the right product to be selected by using a simple order form – or by visiting an Internet shop, for that matter. We also try to cover most of the familiar requirements made of modern driver′s desk displays with our standard devices, but experience has shown that despite all attempts at harmonisation – in retrofit projects, for instance – special mechanical and electronic modifications are required over and over again. Technological explanations and sampling are usually quite time-consuming, and require excellent product knowledge as well as immediate proximity to the GERSYS development department. All of this is too much for most distributors to cope with.
In our long-term orientation of customer relations, the importance lies not in the short-term success of a sale but in the long-term success of a relationship lasting many years that is marked by mutual trust.
In this regard, sustainability also means that the customer usually has the same contact partner over many years – this is the only way that trust can be fostered. Furthermore, it is when a service case arises that the customer wants direct access to a competent contact partner who is authorised to take decisions. All this is offered by our lean distribution and service structure.
Moreover, where customers are concerned, our sales philosophy makes no distinctions between company sizes, vehicle manufacturers, system integrators and rail operators.
Every customer receives the same level of high-quality support.
It is only in Eastern Europe – and especially in Russia – that we cooperate with ITC Electronics and Microdis (see below), two leading electronics distribution companies in Russia. Even in such a vast country, their specialised knowledge of local customers and presence in 14 Russian cities guarantees the necessary closeness to the customer.
Furthermore ITC and Microdis share the GERSYS philosophy of retaining long-term stability in the relationship with customers and partners. Regular joint visits to customers′ premises and direct contact partners for our Russian customers are also a matter of course.
