This enables us to develop any desired customer solution from product platforms or to adapt characteristics of series products to relevant applications. This modular approach also means that we can create working prototypes within a very short space of time, thus contributing towards smooth and rapid development of new vehicle concepts. Despite ever shorter innovation cycles in modern processor technology – they now last around 5 years – rail vehicles are in operation for at least 25 years. During that time their communication equipment has to continue to function reliably, by means of preventive and corrective maintenance as well as retrofitting.
We ensure this takes place, by means of responsible obsolescence management. We guarantee our customers availability of products and spare parts that are compatible where installation and operation are concerned.
